Love Letter to Cafe Lago

It is a well-known fact that I have an undying love for Italian food, and I have even earned the nickname Garfield (not sure how I feel about this one) due to my passion for lasagna. So with that being said, I felt like it would be appropriate to give a shout-out to my all-time favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle: Cafe Lago

Cafe Lago is nestled in a charming, little corner in Montlake and promoted as a rustic Italian Kitchen. Right when entering you are greeted by a dimly lit ambulance that serves as the perfect environment for a date night or dinner celebration.

Surprise surprise, my favorite item off the menu that is praised throughout the Seattle area is their ultra-thin lasagna. It is so so creamy but does not feel heavy. I could eat this dish over and over again, and you can even order a pan of it to dish it out at home!

If you’re in the mood for a fun appetizer, the piatto di antipasti sports the most beautiful presentation and a great variety of meats and cheeses, as well as grilled eggplant. Also, the pomodori al forno is an excellent starter for two. The dish consists of delicious slow-roasted tomatoes, crunchy crostinis, and a goat cheese spread so you can assemble it on your own.

Anyone from Seattle will tell you how amazing Cafe Lago is, so if you’re ever in the area, be sure to check it out and do yourself a favor and get the lasagna.
