Hot Take: Euphoria Makeup

If you’re anything like me, you have been holding off on buying too many clothes for the New Year, waiting in restless anticipation for the 2022 fashion forecast brought to us by Euphoria season two. Well, folks, the day has come. Season two, episode one is fresh off the press, and here’s what I think of the new looks. 

So……. news flash. Ditch the glitter in 2022. This year we’re ~maturing~

Although the makeup looks by Doniella Davy are stunning, the characters are now rocking a more natural glowy look (with the occasional winged eyeliner and rhinestone.) However, I’m honestly here for it. Using subtle techniques to enhance natural features is magnifique. A makeup line I recommend to tackle this look is MERIT Beauty. It’s marketed as a five-step beauty routine, which is definitely not a bad idea for people like me who are always running late in the morning but want that extra pop. 

The shift in the character looks is definitely signaling something here to the viewers. I think the looks are meant to mimic the shift of an even more serious tone for the show. As viewers, we were warned that this season is going to be even more intense, and I have no doubt that we will see this trend not only in the plot but across the board.

Well, ciao for now. Perhaps at the end of the season, I’ll reassess.
